Hey I’m Chris welcome to my website.
No I’m not the guy in the bunny suit but this pic reminds of the movie “Donnie Darko.’ Basically, the movie is about a young man who has apocalyptic visions of the world. He’s told by some guy (or something) in a bunny suit that the worlds gonna end in 28 days.
However, his concerned parents send him to a psychiatrist where he’s labeled as Schizophrenic.
Now my life ain’t as half as interesting as this movie but I still a got a story to tell. Although I don’t have visions of lifesize bunnies and comet showers I do hear things that are not real.
You see I’m a ‘Paranoid Schizophrenic’ too. Although I’m more than a label, once I was medicated that was the end of my world as I knew it.
Once I started downing those little tablets (and the needles in my butt), that was the end of the old me.
Almost overnight I packed on 100 pounds of fat. I began chain-smoking and drinking coffee like a trooper. I was an insanely good worker at that time. I was the ‘hardest fu#ker’ in one of the most physically demanding jobs on the planet.
But this was part of my downfall.
The pressure I use to put myself under to perform was unsustainable.
Before I ended up in the psych ward my favorite form of ‘self-harm’ was weight training and sprinting. I didn’t exercise to improve myself but to destroy myself.
All these factors created the perfect storm and as a result, I ended up hearing 30 different voices talking to me continuously for 6 months.
Then I was sectioned and the local police were kind enough to escort me to the insane asylum.
Bye, bye ole’ life…hello hotel for the damned.
So that’s a small part of my tale. Probably more interesting than that tail on the back of the bunny but then again maybe not.
This website is my hub.
It contains bits and pieces of my life’s work. Specifically, it contains a poetry book that became my form of therapy.
And even more importantly I designed a memory system to help me overcome my ‘compulsive checking.’
I’ll include other stuff on my blog related to mental health and my artistic endeavors in the near future.
So keep visiting my website and comment on my articles if you feel compelled to.
